At Dance Envy, we believe dance is about so much more than learning routines.
We’ve created a welcoming and inclusive environment where dancers can be themselves, build confidence, make friendships and develop their skills at their own pace.
Whether they dance purely for fun or have ambitions to compete and perform, every dancer is encouraged to grow, achieve and, most importantly, enjoy being part of the Dance Envy family.

Lucy Erskine
Dance Envy Founder
I have been running my own dance school, Dance Envy, for almost 15 years, and what started with just 10 dancers has grown into an amazing community of more than 120 students.
Dance has been a huge part of my life from the very beginning. I started dancing at the age of three and went on to study for a BA (Hons) Degree in Musical Theatre, where I was also incredibly proud to be chosen as Dance Captain for our final third-year show. After graduating, I gained my first professional experience as a singer and dancer in Cyprus before returning home and opening Dance Envy in 2012.
At Dance Envy, we offer a variety of dance styles for all ages and abilities, creating an environment where everyone can learn, grow and, most importantly, have fun. For me, dance is about so much more than learning steps. It’s about building confidence, developing life skills, making lifelong friendships and feeling part of something special.
Over the years, Dance Envy has grown into a welcoming and supportive community with a real sense of family and team spirit. One of my absolute favourite highlights is putting on our full school show. Every single child in the school gets the opportunity to be involved, and watching them all come together on stage makes for the most wholesome, proud and feel-good weekend.
I feel incredibly lucky to have built something I am so passionate about, and even luckier to have the best team around me. Seeing our dancers grow in confidence, make memories and enjoy doing something they love is exactly why I love what I do. 💕
Meet the Dance Envy Team
Hope Blythe
Dance Instructor
Hope has danced since the age of three and has been part of Dance Envy since day one, training in ballet, modern, tap, freestyle, lyrical and commercial. Now a qualified associate teacher, she loves sharing her experience and helping dancers develop their confidence and individual style. Outside Dance Envy, Hope is a qualified respiratory physiotherapist within the NHS.
Alice Davey
Dance Instructor
Alice has danced since the age of four and is trained in ballet, tap, modern, freestyle and contemporary, with qualifications from IDTA and NCDTA. She loves helping Dance Envy’s dancers grow in confidence and develop their passion for dance. Alongside teaching, Alice studies Business & Marketing at Northumbria University and is currently completing an internship in Finance.
Esme Suddick
Dance Instructor
Esme is trained in ballet, tap, lyrical, commercial and competitive freestyle, beginning her Dance Envy journey at 15. She now loves helping young dancers build confidence and achieve their goals. Alongside teaching, Esme works in digital marketing and enjoys fashion, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Jen Anderson
Dance Instructor
Jen has danced since the age of four and holds a BA (Hons) in Dance, specialising in contemporary, jazz, choreography and teaching. A lifelong friend of Lucy, she has supported Dance Envy over the years and now teaches Dinky Dancers, helping young dancers build confidence and a love of dance. Outside Dance Envy, Jen works in a local high school and enjoys family time and travelling.
Clare Taylor
Gymnastics Instructor
Clare was a gymnast from age 5 and retired from the sport herself when she was 16. She started coaching right after her retirement, and shes now a Level 4 qualified gymnastics coach. Clare loves helping gymnasts of all ages reach their potential and have fun! Outside of Dance Envy Clare is a full time gymnastics coach, and loves travelling and family time.
